👤 Portrait Prompts
4 ready-to-use portrait prompts. Every prompt comes with a plain-language explanation of what effect it produces — and what to tweak.
Effect links open reference galleries for the look, so you can judge the style before you generate. They show the look in practice — not a render of the exact prompt. Prompts work in Midjourney, Stable Diffusion, Flux, DALL-E 3 and similar generators; adjust names, lenses and colors to taste.
Portraits live or die on light. These four prompts cover the range — warm golden-hour glow, clean studio beauty, dramatic low-key shadow and unstaged candid street — each with the effect explained so you know what to tweak.
Golden-Hour Portrait
Effect: Low warm sun gives flattering skin tones, a glowing rim around the hair and a dreamy blurred background. The 85mm lens keeps facial proportions natural — the classic portrait focal length. Tweak: change the time to “blue hour” for a cooler, moodier version.
Studio Beauty Portrait
Effect: Big soft light erases harsh shadows, so skin looks even and the image reads clean and commercial — the standard beauty-ad look. Tweak: swap “light-grey” for “pure white” for a brighter catalog feel, or “charcoal” for more drama.
Moody Low-Key Portrait
Effect: One hard light against black creates deep shadows and strong contrast — the face emerges from darkness, which reads as serious and cinematic. Tweak: move the light to “from below” for an unsettling horror feel, or add “thin rim light” to separate the subject from the background.
Candid Street Portrait
Effect: A wider 35mm lens plus a caught-mid-moment pose makes the shot feel unstaged and alive, unlike a posed studio portrait. Overcast light keeps skin tones soft without harsh sun. Tweak: add “rain” or “golden hour” to change the whole mood without touching the pose.
